      About

Michael Tewes was born in Remscheid-Lennep, Germany. After taking his first steps in training as a carpenter, he studied photography in Dortmund and design in Potsdam and Chicago.

His training was complemented by a one-year internship at a studio for automotive photography, followed by work as a project designer for companies such as Vitra, Zumtobel and Berlin music labels, as well as many years as a production manager for fashion and still-life photographers.

Since 2004, he has been working on his own photography and design projects and, more recently, has also been developing themed projects as a lighting designer and planner. Michael runs a studio in Berlin, inspired by impressions from all over the world, and works with brands, architects, artists, companies, publishers, designers, and agencies to realize successful projects throughout Europe.

He crafts narrative and emotionally resonant visuals, complemented by lighting design that seamlessly merges ambiance and function.
